Messi transfer to PSG

One of the biggest shocks in the summer transfer window was Messi’s departure from Barcelona. It’s the club he joined when he was 13 and spent his entire professional career. After 21 years, 672 goals, and 34 titles with the Catalan giants, Messi was forced to leave the club due to financial problems and the La Liga salary cap.


Messi has agreed a new contract with Barcelona. However, the club was unable to enroll him without exceeding the league’s spending limit. As a result, Messi became a free agent and received offers from several clubs, including Manchester City, Chelsea, and Inter Milan. But in the end, he settled on French giants Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), who have followed him for many years.


Messi has signed a two-year contract with PSG with an option for a third year, reportedly worth €35 million per season. He also received a signing bonus of €25 million. Messi will wear the number 30 jersey he wore on his Barcelona debut in 2004. Messi says he is sad to leave Barcelona But he is looking forward to a new challenge in Paris. He also said he is looking forward to playing alongside his former teammate Neymar and friend Kylian Mbappe to form a formidable attacking trio to rival anyone in history.

Messi will turn 35 during the World Cup, which could be his last chance to win the World Cup.
