Celebrity Silhouette Review: A Cruise to Remember
If you’re looking for a cruise that combines sophistication, elegance, and fun, you might want to consider sailing on the Celebrity Silhouette. This ship is part of the Solstice class, which is known for its innovative design, spacious cabins, and diverse dining options. I had the chance to experience the Celebrity Silhouette on a 7-night Eastern Caribbean cruise, and I was impressed by the quality of service, entertainment, and amenities on board. Here are some of the highlights of my cruise:
The Lawn Club
One of the most distinctive features of the Celebrity Silhouette is the Lawn Club, a half-acre of real grass on the top deck. This area is perfect for relaxing, playing games, or enjoying a picnic. You can also rent one of the eight alcoves, private cabanas that offer shade, comfortable seating, and a personal butler. Or, you can try your hand at grilling your own steak at the Lawn Club Grill, a casual outdoor restaurant that also offers cooking classes. The Lawn Club is a unique and refreshing space that makes you feel closer to nature.
The Retreat
If you’re looking for more exclusivity and luxury, you might want to book a suite on the Celebrity Silhouette. Suite guests have access to the Retreat, a private area that includes a lounge, a sundeck, and a restaurant. The Retreat Lounge is a cozy and elegant place to enjoy complimentary drinks, snacks, and concierge service. The Retreat Sundeck is a serene oasis with plush loungers, cabanas, and a hot tub. The Retreat Restaurant is a fine dining venue that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner with personalized service and exquisite cuisine.
The Dining Options
Speaking of cuisine, the Celebrity Silhouette has plenty of dining options to suit every taste and mood. The main dining room, Grand Cuvee, offers a variety of dishes in a stunning setting with a two-story wine tower. The buffet, Oceanview Cafe, has stations for pizza, pasta, salad, sushi, stir-fry, and more. The specialty restaurants include Murano (French), Tuscan Grille (Italian), Qsine (global fusion), and Blu (healthy). I especially enjoyed Qsine, where I watched an animation called “Le Petit Chef” that showed how my food was prepared.
The Entertainment
The Celebrity Silhouette also has a lot of entertainment options to keep you entertained throughout the cruise. The theater hosts nightly shows that include singers, dancers, comedians, and acrobats. The casino has slot machines, table games, and tournaments. The bars and lounges have live music, trivia, karaoke, and dance parties. Some of my favorite spots were the Martini Bar, where the bartenders put on a juggling show; the Sky Observation Lounge, where I enjoyed panoramic views and cocktails; and the Ensemble Lounge, where I listened to jazz and blues.
The Ports of Call
Of course, no cruise is complete without visiting some amazing destinations. My cruise stopped at San Juan (Puerto Rico), Charlotte Amalie (St. Thomas), and Philipsburg (St. Maarten). I had a great time exploring the history, culture, and nature of these islands. I visited forts, cathedrals, and museums in San Juan; beaches, shops, and scenic views in St. Thomas; and markets, lagoons, and butterflies in St. Maarten. Each port offered something different and memorable.
The Verdict
Overall, I had a wonderful cruise on the Celebrity Silhouette. I loved the ship’s design, atmosphere and amenities. I felt pampered by the staff, entertained by the activities, and satisfied by the food. I would definitely recommend this ship to anyone looking for a cruise that offers both style and substance.
